SWINDON DIAL A RIDE
A local voluntary organisation whose aim is to provide safe, affordable, accessible transport for the community. A wide range of people can benefit from the services. From wheelchair users to those who may need transport on a short-term basis. This includes individuals who have recently come out of hospital or who may be recovering from a major illness.  All of the vehicles have been specially adapted to make them accessible to wheelchair users.

The Hearing and Vision Team at Craven House has compiled a Sight Impairment Information Directory to give answers to questions that you may have about sight loss and information on many organisations and services available.
 
 
SWINDON CHESS CLUB
Chess is both exercise and stimulation for the brain, which has been proved to be beneficial in maintaining good memory and concentration for longer into old age.  We are a friendly crowd of mixed abilities and the charges are very reasonable.

The Wiltshire Blind Association is a registered charity which exists to offer practical help, support and advice to anyone living or working in the County of Wiltshire or within the Borough of Swindon who suffers from sight problems.
 
 
SWINDON LINK MAGAZINE
Swindon Link Magazine is "The Positive Newsforce in Swindon" distributed monthly free of charge to 23,000 homes in West and North Swindon. A further 3,000 are left in public places around the town.  Swindon Link was first published for the West Swindon community in December 1978 and in North Swindon from January 1994.  The website contains a wealth of articles, information and useful links.
